Today

It’s one of those laws of parenting — going out late for dessert and drinks with friends guarantees that the kids will wake up early, especially when your partner is away and so you can’t roll over and beg for an extra half an hour of rest.  I brought the boys up to my bed for a while, but that only bought me maybe 20 minutes.

By 9 am, I had read:

So I’m not feeling too guilty about the fact that I’m letting D watch The Magic School Bus Space Adventures while N naps this afternoon.  I’m not sure what we’ll do when N wakes up, but we’ll deal with it then.

If only Phoebe would nap at home! She pretty much refuses to nap anymore unless she’s in the car. And it’s not because she’s outgrowing them; she is miserable if she doesn’t take one. It’s my own fault for putting her to sleep in the car so often. I wish I could change it though!

I feel your pain – but it’s the dogs that wake us up early (my 14 year old slept until 3:30!!! this afternoon. I hope you can get some rest…

Ugh! LD and I have a deal where we each get to sleep in on alternate weekend days. I was hurting this am, but it was his turn. So I got to build a tent out of blankets and chairs in the living room at 7 a.m. Why, oh why can’t they sleep later?
