Contraception still legal in Virginia
I’m happy to report that contraception is still legal in the commonwealth of Virginia, in spite of Bob Marshall’s efforts to the contrary.
- And Not Larry Sabato discusses the political ramifications of the Democrats’ move to force a roll call vote on the bill.
Given how close this bill came to passing, sorry Bitch, but I’m not laughing.

Levonorgestrel is not effective once the implantation process has begun.”
So it can prevent implantation which typically occurs 5 to 7 days after conception.

So I think you are right, that Delegate Marshall’s bill would arguably ban Plan B. I think Delegate Marshall is a nut, and that he does the Reeps harm the more people see of him – but that may just show how out of touch I am with past-the-Beltway Virginia. Remember this next election, and throw money at Bruce Roemmelt, who gave him a run for his money!

As I believe I said during the South Dakota discussion, even breastfeeding can arguably prevent implantation, as can IUDs. If these attempts to define life as beginning at the point of fertilization ever become statute, I foresee some really stunningly absurd — and frightening — court cases.

It seems that through these anti-abortion bills conservatives are attacking birth control. They want to ban it all – evidence in the cervical cancer vaccine. Yesterday I listened to Rudy Guiliani on Sean Hannity and he talked about possible outcomes on Roe v. Wade (considering Alito, Scalia and Roberts). Basically, he believes that they will not overturn it, but limit its use. I was stunned; I don’t know if he is reiterating inside knowledge or this is his personal opinion. He is a very socially liberal Republican, so I was shocked by his forthrightness on the topic. I just can not believe we are having this debate today. People might not care for Hillary, but I really feel we need more women’s voices in government.
